I have used John Chak for most of my automotive repair needs for the last 6 years or so. They have always been competent and stood behind their work. The only time I don't use John Chak is when I do it myself; simple things like changing plugs or wiper blades and plug in parts that are readily accessible. I thought the problems I had were something I could handle this time as well, and I was partly right. I replaced a few items dealing with performance. When I was done, the problem remained. I finally gave on finding the cause and took it to John Chak. I dropped it off on Thursday and was told they would call me on Friday after they had run the diagnosis. They quoted me the price for a diagnostic scan, and I was fine with that. You have to know what is wrong before you can fix it. I got the call on Friday as promised, and they told me the car was fixed, come and get it. When I got there, they explained that one of the parts I had replaced myself was not tightly plugged into the connector, and when they pressed on the connector, it fixed the problem. I was prepared to gladly pay the fee they had quoted me for the diagnostic scan because that was how they found the trouble. They had paid a technician to run the scan and evaluate the problem. I was floored when they told me that they were going to deeply discount the price since the problem was so simple to repair. They pointed out a few minor things that needed attention in the future. I was a small business owner while in college. I did repairs on washers and dryers. I would have done the same thing, or similar, in my business because I was raised by great parents who taught me to be fair and be gracious when appropriate. But that was me, in my one man shop, working for myself and with very little overhead to worry about. If you need repairs, you can trust John Chak and his people to do the repairs, charge a fair price and stand behind their work.
